It was an evening of music with Daler Mehndi, who enthralled a delirious audience on the lawns of the Country Club as apart of the '500th Leap Year Celebrations' on Monday. Though the Daler Mehndi night started a full two hours late, the people who gathered to listen to the latest craze in the Indian pop circuits waited patiently for a treat of mix of bhangra and pop.

Kicking off the nite, with a Punjabi folk song Aaja Aaja Sajna, Mehndi shifted to a mix of hits from Hindi film songs and followed it with his hit number, Bolo Ta Ra Ra, which saw the dance floor being fully occupied by the audience. Bhangra and more of bhangra was in store as the foot tapping music and songs kept the audience enthralled till late in the night. Ably assisted by Sardar Amrik Singh on the guitar, who also doubled up as a singer, accompanying Daler in the film songs. The duo sang a series of old and latest film songs right from Sar jo tera chakraye (Pyaasa to the recednt hit from the Remo's stable Humma Humma (Bombay). The beswt part of the night was the evergreen Pradeep hit, Dekh tere sansar ki halat kya ho gayee Bhagwan and the Khaike Pan Banaras wala (Don).

Organised by the Country Club Along with Tat Cellular, the evening was aimed at ushering in the new year with a large gathering which danced away into the night with the winner of Channel V music awards, the crowned King of Bhangra Pop Daler Mehndi.
