Indian Pop sensation Daler Mehndi bags the Best Live Performer Award
February 24th, 2015 witnessed the 5th annual GIMA awards where the undisputed King of Bhangra was graced with the Best Live Performer award.
Mr Mehndi, who has been occupied with his latest project agreed to be a part of the event despite his busy schedule. He was presented the award by his younger brother Mika and agreed to sing a song after repeated requests by Ace Comedian and Anchor, Manish Paul and Pop sensation Mika Singh. And he won the hearts of the audience, yet again by his brief performance.
Mr Mehndi, has been conferred with titles such as “The Turbaned Tornado” and “The Sultan of Swing” by the International Press and has won numerous awards for his contributions in different genres such as Indie Pop, Bhangra, Sufi, Bhangra Rock, Gurbani and Bollywood to name a few. His recent collaboration with renowned Canadian EDM artist Deadmau5, for the remix of the epical track “tunak tunak tun” has made him rage among the youth too.
He has made waves in the Indian Pop Industry and is continuing to do so with a world tour lined up this year and is all set to launch his latest album this summer!
