Been there and done that. From Bolo Ta Ra Ra to Band Bajega from Akshay Kumar starrer Khatta Meetha, singer Daler Mehndi's tunes have Struck an instant chord with the listners. In City on Thursday to celebrate the success of G-Asia magazine, the singer got talking about his new album, playback singing and the need to restore Punjabiyat.
Daler Mehndi has just finished working on hisw new pop album. Tells he, "Dum Ba Dum is my nest pop album, which will be released in September and it has all kinds of songs from ppeppy to quintessentially pop." At the same, he is looking forward to the release of the Bollywood films in which he has sung.
He is also game for acting like all his counterparts. "If I get a good script and a director, then I am open to acting too," says Daler.
The feisty singer is also judging the new season of SaReGaMaPa on Zee TV, which goes on air on August 13. Nods he, "I will be aslo mentoring the participants on the show. I am training them to be complete performers, who can sing almost anything like I do. Being a part of the show made me realise that there is ample singing talent in our country."
The man has been on Punjab darshan for last couple of days and isn't happy with the film posters displayed in the interiors of Punjab, "They were 99 percent blue films. If given a chance, I will be keen to work in a good Punjabi film and lend my voice too.. I would not mind doi8ng it for free, for the sake of promoting Punjabiyat."
