Daler Mehndi Raises Funds For Yoga Centres
Amity Business School, Noida hosted a large gathering of yoga and music lovers in the capital recently. The occasion, a charity show titled "Yog Sur Aur Sangeet Ka", saw the performance of Punjabi Pop singer Daler Mehndi. Organised by the Indian Heritage Society as part of their fund-raising programme, the proceeds from the show would be used to create a resource to set up yoga traning sentres all over the country. Among those present included Najma Heptullah, M.M. Joshi and his wife Tarla.
Speaking on the occasion, Nivedita Joshi, secretary, Indian Heritage Society, Said, "Today, No Matter how advanced medical science is, the benefits of yoga cannot be denied. I have suffered almost a decade of physical disability and pain, till yoga helped me recover fully. The plan to build a solid infrastructure for yoga is our dream project and we want to spread awareness about it. The curative effects of yoga must be shared with everybody."
Daler Mehndi enthralled the audience with his smash-hit numbers. He expressed satisfaction in contributing to the noble cause of promoting holistic yoga in the country. Daler said, "I'm honoured to usw my voice and spread the message of well-being and good living through yoga. The Indian Heritage Society Deserves to be applauded for their sincere efforts to preserve the rich Indian culture of yoga."
Showering praises on the Indian Heritage Society, Najma Heptullah remarked, "the Indian Heritage Society through its regular seminars, symposiums and lectures on the significance of yoga is doing commendable work. I wish people associated with it all the best."
